‘Shouldn’t go unrecognized’: P.A. doctor set to receive award for work during pandemic
The medical health officer for Prince Albert is receiving an award for the work he did during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Khami Chokani has been chosen by the Victoria Hospital Foundation (VHF) to receive the MNP Award for Outstanding Achievement in Healthcare at this year’s Doctors Gala.
“The workload that he had and the incredible work he did just shouldn’t go unrecognized,” said Cody Barnett, the executive director for the VHF.
Chokani served as the professional voice P.A.’s city council used when contemplating certain restrictions which would help stop the spread of COVID. While some were against these types of measures, Chokani expressed just how important they were to stop people from needlessly dying from the virus.
