In the middle of a busy and successful season, the Prince Albert Wrestling Club (PAWC) has suffered a big setback.

The van that’s used to pick members up for practice and take the team to tournaments was stolen. Coach Cody Souter purchased the van last year.

“It doesn’t take away from me, it takes away from the kids,” he told paNOW.

Inside the van was all the club’s gear, medical supplies, a wrestling dummy, and a child’s car seat.

Souter estimated his gold coloured van, that was left parked outside the front of his house, was stolen sometime between 11 p.m. on Monday night and 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

“I dont even know how they could have gotten it going because there’s no spare keys and I had the keys in my bloody pocket,” he said.

Souter described the van as one of a kind. In addition to its gold colour, it also runs on diesel fuel and has a brush guard in the front.

The Prince Albert Police Service confirmed that around 5:30 a.m. they were called to an address in the 1500 block of 14th St. W. The investigation continues and at this time there’s been no arrests.

Anyone with information about the incident or the van, is encouraged to call the police service at (306) 953-4222, or Crime Stoppers.
