Woman facing weapons charges after gun fired in Midtown

A 28-year-old woman is facing several weapons charges after she was allegedly seen walking in the Midtown neighbourhood, firing her gun.

Police got reports of the woman walking along Sixth Street and Fifth Avenue East just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. Officers responded to the area immediately and found the suspect at a nearby home.

Brandy Gardiner is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, and careless use of a firearm. She made a brief appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Wednesday morning. Her case is scheduled to be heard tomorrow, Jan. 26.
