Man charged with second degree murder wanted for breaching court conditions

Jan 23, 2023 | 4:56 PM

A man charged with second-degree murder has allegedly breached his court conditions and is being sought by the Saskatchewan RCMP Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST).

Saskatoon Police have charged 40-year-old Alvin Thomas with breaking court-ordered release conditions following a second-degree murder charge laid by Saskatchewan RCMP in June of 2022. That charge is still before the courts.

WEST is asking for help in finding Thomas, who stands 5-10, with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos of the word ‘Crook’ in large lettering on his forearm, a band around his wrist, a cursive word with hearts and stars around it on the back of his hand, and initials at the base of his thumb.

In June, police said he had connections to Prince Albert and Nipawin, as well to Cumberland House and Saskatoon. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Thomas is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Marisha Hoksbergen, 24, in May of 2022 at Cumberland House.

Police say do not approach Thomas if you see him and instead report sightings or information to your local police service.

Anyone with information is asked to call 310-RCMP or submit information anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
