It is that time of year again as you have a chance to recognize the achievements of businesses in Prince Albert.

Nominations for the 2023 Samuel MacLeod Business Awards are now open, with 12 categories to recognize.

“They are Prince Albert’s prestige awards ceremony,” said CEO of the Prince Albert Chamber of Commerce Patty Hughes. “This is recognition from the business community (that) they have achieved excellence in these categories.”

The awards will look different this year with some categories changing and some being introduced.

“We have created the Micro-Enterprise of the year, with anybody that has less than five employees and growing,” said Hughes.

She also mentioned they’ve combined the male and female business leader awards into one: The Business Leader of the Year.

Other awards being added this time around are Indigenous Business of The Year and the Diversity on The Workplace Award.

“Taking a look at businesses that have made adjustments within their hiring plans and within their workplace for diversity and inclusion to be part of it,” said Hughes.
