Prince Albert Quilter’s Guild Presents 10 Quilts to JSCN

Dec 16, 2022 | 10:53 AM

The Prince Albert Quilt Guild donated 10 quilts to the James Smith Cree Nation for survivors’ family from the tragedy in September. Some of our members went to JSCN to make the donation.

The Prince Albert Quilt Guild, comprised of local quilters, sewists, and fabric enthusiasts, come together to support, challenge, and inspire one another by:

-Promoting the art of quilting.
-Encouraging the sharing of skills and knowledge.
-Developing fellowship among members.

New members are always welcome – whether experienced or not – if you are interested in the art of quilting, come check us out!

Throughout the course of the year, our guild provides a wide variety of themes, workshops, retreats, and demonstrations for all skill levels.

The Prince Albert Quilt Guild also has a long tradition of community involvement. One of our Guild’s mandates is to donate “Comfort Quilts” to organizations in the City of Prince Albert and surrounding area. These quilts are made by members and donated to the Guild for distribution among those in need of support. Some of the organizations that the PAQG has donated to include (but not limited to):

Quilts For Survivors
Shellbrook Nursing Home
Herb Bassett Nursing Home
Mont. St. Joseph Care Home
Pineview Terrace
Syrian Refugees
Children’s Haven
Victoria Hospital Maternal Visiting Program

Meals on Wheels (Placemats)

To date, the Prince Albert Quilt Guild has donated well over 300 quilts!
