TISDALE – The Prince Albert Mintos had a tough kick at the can on Wednesday night, falling to the Tisdale Trojans 4-2 at Tisdale Recplex.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

The Mintos got off on the right foot by scoring the lone marker in the opening period, courtesy of Logan Pickford’s 12th of the year to take the early lead over Tisdale.

PA’s lead lasted well into the second until Jaxon Kehrig tied it up on the powerplay midway through the period. The score remained tied going into the third.

Things started going south for PA with less than 13 minutes to go when Eric Han and Jack Bechard scored just 2 minutes apart to give Tisdale the 3-1 advantage.

The Mintos did get one back however with Konnor Watson’s 11th of the season, but by then it was too late. Simon Martin took advantage of PA’s empty net and converted to seal the deal for the Trojans, 4-2.

Mintos’ netminder Jayden Kraus got the nod for the start where he made 24 saves as PA falls to 12-10-0-1 on the campaign.

Brady Kashuba was between the pipes for the Trojans where he turned aside 27 shots to help Tisdale improve to 5-18-0-3.

The Green and Gold are back in action this weekend when they head south to face the Saskatoon Contacts on Saturday afternoon and the Warman Wildcats on Sunday afternoon.
