New medical practice eager to make a difference

Local families or individuals in the Prince Albert area, who have been searching tirelessly for a doctor to call their own, are receiving a dosage of good news.
Dr. Fadeke Joanna Awobem is now accepting new patients. The Beaming Light Medical Practice is open Monday to Friday at 100-1316 Central Avenue, Prince Albert. This is the same location where the Malhotra Clinic was. However, this is a new medical practice.
Dr F.J . Awobem obtained her medical degree in Nigeria and completed her family medicine training in the United Kingdom. Prior to setting up practice in Prince Albert she worked as a Family Physician in Ontario for seven years.
“Being a primary care physician, I will be taking care of patients of all ages, male and female, providing continuity of care for patients with chronic diseases such as Diabetes and patients with mental health problems, in collaboration with specialists and other health care professionals. It is well known that greater continuity of care with a family doctor reduces the need for acute hospital admissions. I will also be focusing on safe prescribing,” she explained.
