WASTE COLLECTION

Waste collection changes coming Jan. 1 for some areas

Dec 12, 2022 | 10:29 AM

Some residents in Prince Albert could have their waste and recycling collection days change once 2023 rolls around.

The City announced Monday the possible changes for areas one and two following a sanitation division review of each area.

“The changes will result in several blocks from area one and two shifting into other areas,” Sanitation Manager Todd Olexson said. “The shifts are intended to create equal pick-up times for each area.”

As a result of the review, area two north of the river will now be area four while a portion of area two will move from area three to the southeast side of area one.

Specific days of collection will not change for each area but those who were previously in one zone will move to a new day come January 1, when their area changes.

The City said as it transitions from the 300-gallon bins to individual roll-out bins, these changes are meant to help the City continue collecting waste on schedule.

You can see the calendars and maps for each area on the city’s website.
