Dec 8, 2022 | 9:42 AM

MELFORT, Sask. – The Mosaic Company has paused production at its Colonsay potash mine, 70 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.

The company said it has curtailed production at the mine due to decreased demand.

Mosaic C-E-O Joc O’Rourke said it has enough potash to meet near-term demand and anticipates restarting production early next year.

The company did not say how many employees would be affected by the decision.

Cereals Canada has pledged its support for the Grain Growers of Canada’s (GGC) climate solutions initiative.

Cereals Canada CEO Dean Dias said it’s important for agriculture to come together by collaborating and jointly building a plan that is successful for growers, the value chain, and industry partners.

The ‘Road to 2050’ initiative will propose a path that focuses on innovation, research, and beneficial management practices that will reduce emissions while feeding a growing world population.

Cereals Canada is a national association representing the Canadian wheat, barley, and oats value chain.

CNH Industrial said it will cease all construction equipment sales activities in China at the end of the month.

The decision is part of the company’s ongoing turnaround plan for its global construction business.

CNH Industrial does not expect to incur significant charges in connection with the cessation of its construction equipment sales activities in China.

In 2021, sales of construction equipment totaled roughly $88 million.

All other existing CNH Industrial activities in the country will not be affected by the decision.
