Two people charged after drug seizure in Montreal Lake Cree Nation

Two people have been arrested and charged after police found drugs and other items in a home on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

On Dec. 2, RCMP searched the home with help from RCMP Police Dog Services. Inside, they found roughly 30 grams of meth, firearm components, cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Cedric Bird, 38, was arrested on an outstanding warrant by Waskesiu RCMP while Hailey Okemow, 21, was arrested and charged with several drug trafficking and weapons offences.

She was also sought on an outstanding warrant from Prince Albert Police.

Both accused made their first court appearance on Monday.
