Marauders win silver at Provincials

The St. Mary Marauders went the distance this weekend at the 5A girls provincial volleyball championship, and up until the final game had shown no weakness.

But it was ultimately Saskatoon’s Holy Cross holding the kryptonite, winning two straight games and claiming the gold.

Holy Cross was also the other team to finish the round robin at 4-0.

After advancing from the round robin, the Marauders faced a familiar foe in Carlton and won two straight.

The Marauders would then go on to beat Greenall before facing Holy Cross in the final.

Boys’ results

A number of other schools from the Prince Albert and northern regions also saw success at their respective tournaments.

Bellevue won the 1A provincial championship.

At the 4A tournament, Meadow Lake won gold after beating North Battleford John Paul II in the final. Melfort clinched the bronze.
