Nov 25, 2022 | 12:00 PM

The man himself is making his way to Prince Albert for the Prince Albert Downtown Business Improvement District’s annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday.

This is the first time the Santa Claus Parade is taking place after a two-year hiatus from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I believe the community is very excited for the Santa Parade,” said PADBID’s Executive Director Rhonda Trusty. “We have close to forty participants this year. Businesses putting in floats, groups coming with walkers, and service organizations bringing their vehicles as well so it’s pretty exciting.”

Trusty added that she’s reminding families to bring a bag for the goodies that floats and participants will be handing out during the parade.

The Parade is set to get underway at 11 a.m. and will begin on 9th Street then head down Central Ave. before making its final stop at the Gateway Mall.

“Santa will arrive at the 14th Street entrance of the mall,” she said. “Then he will be escorted in by the cadets and make his way inside the mall where he’s then available for photos.”

While the parade is happening, carolers will line the streets singing Christmas songs while cups of hot chocolate will be handed out by MNP.

After Santa is in the mall and ready for pictures, various activities will be set up where kids will get the chance to enjoy different Christmas interests, like a train ride, arts n crafts, and even a story with Ms. Claus.
