PRINCE ALBERT, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders came up short yet again on Saturday night where they fell to the Everett Silvertips 4-2 at the Art Hauser Centre.

The loss comes 24 hours after losing 3-2 to the Moose Jaw Warriors at home.

Evan Herman and Keaton Sorensen both lit the lamp for the green and gold in the loss while Justice Christensen, Landon Kosior, and Sloan Stanick each netted assists.

Olen Zellweger and Caden Zaplitny each had two goals on the night, while Ryan Hofer had two assists, and Oren Shtrom, Ty Gibson, and Jesse Heslop each had one apiece.

Tikhon Chaika had 38 saves for the Raiders as they now fall to 4-11-2-0 on the campaign.

Tim Metzger stopped 18 shots in the contest to help the Silvertips improve to 11-5-0-0 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

The game had an ugly start for the Raiders when the Silvertips hung three goals on PA in the opening period. Zaplitny scored twice while Zellweger added another on the powerplay to put Everett up after one.

The Raiders managed to find the back of the net in the second as it was the only goal scored in the period. Herman netted his first since coming back from suspension last night, while Christensen tallied his first WHL point on the play. However, the Silvertips still led PA 3-1 after two.

Early in the third and the Raiders kept cutting into the Everett lead. Kosior’s initial shot was stopped by Metzger, but Sorensen was there to put the puck home on the doorstep to make it a one-goal game.

The Raiders pulled Chaika with 30 seconds to go which proved to be costly. Zellweger let one go from the full length of the ice to score his second of the night to seal the 4-2 win for Everett.

Prince Albert is back on the road for their next game where they’ll be taking on the Medicine Hat Tigers from Co-op Place on Tuesday night.
