Halloween spirit possesses Birch Hills Hotel

Oct 28, 2022 | 12:00 PM

A truly terrifying transformation has been completed at the King George Hotel in Birch Hills.

In addition to the bar area, the entire upper floor has been given the freakiest of makeovers. Owner Rosa Matice has owned the hotel for the past two years and has been waiting just as long to exercise her Halloween spirit.

“Oh, we love Halloween. We love it,” she said with excitement.

With the help of her friend Darlene Markowski, Matice set up half a dozen themed rooms for her brave guests to explore. Without giving away too much away, guests can expect to see hungry witches, possessed dolls, and objects that appear to float through the air.

When asked about the costs that went into it, Matice estimated it was easily over a thousand dollars.

“They’re gonna enjoy it I hope,” she said, adding she would also ask those who survive the tour, to give her feedback.

The Haunted Hotel exhibit opens Saturday afternoon, and there is a two-hour session from four to six p.m. for the younger ghouls and goblins. Then for the older souls, the scarier, more animated attractions start at 7 p.m.

The cost for entry is $5.
