RCMP investigating after P.A. woman found dead near Maymont

The death of a 24-year-old Prince Albert woman is being investigated.

Wendy Bird’s body was found along Highway 16 Sunday morning near the village of Maymont. The road was closed for several hours but opened up again later the same day.

Her death is considered suspicious with Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes looking for information on her whereabouts between Oct. 14 and the morning of Oct. 16.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around Highway 16 near Maymont is also asked to reach out to police or Crime Stoppers.

The Saskatoon and North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Sections, Saskatoon RCMP Forensic Identification Section, and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service are also helping with the investigation.
