P.A. Police creates video with family of missing woman in hopes of finding answers

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) is trying a new tactic to help find a woman who’s been missing for over five years.

They partnered with the family of Happy Charles to make a video in hopes of getting anyone who may have information on her whereabouts to speak up.

The video features her parents, Regina and Carson Poitras, as well as her four daughters, Ariel, Aleisha, Margaret, and Marcia.

“As the days go by, we are more focused on bringing her home rather than trying to find a conviction,” Carson said in the video. “We just want to bring our girl home.”

The video will be released on the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQ+.

Happy has been missing since April 2017. The last time she was seen was in surveillance footage at Prince Albert Collegiate Institute. She has brown eyes, black hair, and a scar on her left cheek. She also has a tattoo of a rose on her right hand.

“Someone knows what happened to Happy Charles,” Sgt. Kathy Edwardsen with the historical and missing persons section of PAPS said. “Someone has the information we need, and we need them to come forward to help Happy’s family find closure.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or online.
