2022 NHL Training Camp: PA locals and former, current Raiders at NHL camps this week

The day is finally here. WHL opening night has arrived in Prince Albert.

The Saskatoon Blades are in town to face off against the PA Raiders to kick off the WHL regular season kicks at the Art Hauser Centre.

Although the rival clubs will play each other more than a handful of times this season, both the Raiders and the Blades will be without some notable players for their season opener, including Landon Kosior and Nolan Allan for PA and Connor Roulette and Josh Pillar for Saskatoon.

All four of these players will be attending NHL Training Camp this week for their respective teams. So with that in mind, here’s a list of all the former Raiders and Mintos, as well as players from PA, who are participating in NHL Camps this week:

Arizona Coyotes – Adam Cracknell, from Prince Albert; Reece Vitelli, played for the Raiders from 2020-22.

Colorado Avalanche – Josh Manson, played for the Mintos from 2007-09.

Columbus Blue Jackets – Cole Fonstad, played for the Raiders from 2016-20.

Chicago Blackhawks – Nolan Allan, currently plays on the Raiders (2019-pres).

Edmonton Oilers – Leon Draisaitl, played for the Raiders from 2012-14.

Los Angeles Kings – Landon Kosior, currently plays on the Raiders (2019-pres).

New York Rangers – Braden Schneider, from Prince Albert and played for Mintos and U15 Raiders (2014-17).

Ottawa Senators – Carson Latimer, currently plays on the Raiders (2021-pres); Parker Kelly, played for the Raiders from 2015-19.

San Jose Sharks – Ozzy Wiesblatt, played for the Raiders from 2018-22; Noah Gregor, played for the Raiders in the 2018-19 season.

Tampa Bay Lightning – Ilya Usov, played for the Raiders in the 2019-20 season.

Vegas Golden Knights – Brayden Pachal, played for the Raiders from 2017-19; Gage Quinney, played for the Raiders from 2013-15; Zack Hayes, played for the Raiders from 2016-20.

Winnipeg Jets – Josh Morrissey, played for the Raiders from 2011-15.

Washington Capitals – Alexei Protas, played for the Raiders from 2018-20; Brett Leason, played for the Raiders from 2017-19.

After tonight’s contest, the two will face off in Saskatoon Saturday night to wrap up the season-opening home-and-home series.

The Raiders are back at home on Wednesday as they welcome the Winnipeg ICE to the Art Hauser Centre.
