When it’s too hot and muggy to run around a playground, Alfred’s Sprayground will provide a much cooler solution for Prince Albert’s youngsters to burn off some steam.

The City of Prince Albert officially opened the spray park on Cook Drive in Crescent Heights Thursday.

The Malcolm Jenkins Family Foundation contributed $230,000 to the $350,000 project, while the city picked up the remaining $120,000.

“Another fantastic project completed in partnership with Malcolm Jenkins and the City that will benefit the Crescent Heights Community for years to come. The City is proud of its work alongside great partners like Malcolm Jenkins. Legacy building projects like this continue to reshape parks within Prince Albert on the belief that a great space can be a play space for all to enjoy!” City of Prince Albert parks manager Tim Yeaman said in a statement.

The spray park is 3,900 square feet and includes some fun features like the Acrylic Tot Show Dome, Aqua Gather, Flash Flood, Mini Flash Flood, Tot Size Well Spring, Whirlflex, Triple Arch Jet, and the Junior Water Jewel.

The Crescent Heights Spray Park was highlighted in the State of the Playgrounds report update in 2021 as a playground/park requiring updating and refurbishment.
