Hazardous Waste

Annual hazardous waste collection happening again in P.A.

Sep 14, 2022 | 3:12 PM

Prince Albert residents are getting the chance to throw away any household hazardous waste they have.

The city of P.A. will be collect the waste on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old City Yards.

Accepted materials include anti-freeze, adhesives, aerosols, automotive and household batteries, cleaners, corrosives, fuels, mercury, oxidizers, poisons, paint cans and spray paint, pharmaceuticals, and solvents.

The city is reminding people to keep labels on all materials. This helps identify substances and avoids the need for them to test any substance.

Electronic waste, ammunition, and industrial waste won’t be accepted. Staff on hand will also not be collecting any items that may be biological, infectious, radioactive, or explosive.

Those wanting to throw out used oil, oil filters and containers, tires, and propane tanks can do so by taking it to the P.A. landfill.
