Prince Albert and northern Saskatchewan saw a drop in the number of jobs over the past month.

According to Statistics Canada, the region lost around 400 positions in August. This puts the total of employed people in the area at roughly 96,600. This is approximately how many people had jobs at the end of January.

Over the first eight months of the year, Prince Albert and northern Saskatchewan have lost around 1,100 jobs.

The educational services sector had the worse month, losing around 1,500 positions. The only other sector to see a drop of at least 200 jobs was public administration.
