MELFORT, Sask. – Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C) has launched a new and improved resource library for educators.

AITC-C is a Canadian charitable organization that brings agriculture to the classroom. Alongside ten provincial member organizations, AITC-C provides accurate, balanced, and current, curriculum-linked resources for students at all grade levels.

AITC-C Executive Director Johanne Ross said there are over 500 curriculum-connected resources available through the online platform which are easy to navigate and access.

“We are incredibly proud of the growth we’ve witnessed over the last couple of months for the resource library,” Ross said. “New learning materials are being added every week and we’ve received very positive feedback from educators across the country, which means we’re growing in the right direction.”

Teachers can enjoy unlimited access to several hundred free educational resources and activities. Ross said the only steps required are to register and sign in.

“Whether you’re a Kindergarten teacher on Prince Edward Island or a high school teacher in British Columbia, you can access curriculum-linked resources that will make learning about Canadian agriculture and food engaging for students,” she said.

AITC-C Education Specialist Melissa Galay said the platform was designed specifically so resources and activities are available with the click of a button.

“Registered users can easily filter through resources by subject, grade, topic, province or resource type, and there is even an option to save your favourites for later,” Galay said. “Another feature of the resource library is that users can visit the AITC Dashboard to see what’s new and view their recent downloads or resource orders.”

More dashboard improvements will be made soon, and users will soon be able to register for other AITC programs such as Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month or Little Green Thumbs directly from the platform.

The Canadian Educator Resource library can be found at aitc-canada.ca.
