Sask Polytech getting $3.5M from province for early childhood programs
Saskatchewan Polytechnic is getting funding to help continue training early childhood educators.
The government of Saskatchewan announced on Aug. 16 that they were giving the school — which has campuses in Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and Moose Jaw —$3.5 million for its ‘Building the Future’ program.
Started in 2021 by Sask Polytech, the program offers fully funded courses for everyone from high school students to experienced childhood educators. They can be used towards a credential in Early Childhood Education and an Early Childhood Educator certification with the Saskatchewan government.
“Parents in Saskatchewan are looking for well-trained early childhood educators to take care of their children,” said Stephanie Mulhall, manager of Flexible Learning at Sask Polytech. “Building the Future is helping meet the demand for qualified early childhood educators in Saskatchewan to help the next generation build a foundation for lifelong learning.”
