Car show offers drive down memory lane
Vic Loth and his wife, Diane, have been married 53 years, but can both fondly remember some of their first dates riding in Vic’s Crown Victoria.
While not the original one they had, a car just like it will be one among those featured Saturday during the 24th annual Car Show and Cruise Night at the Northern Lights Casino parking lot.
“We had some good times with the car like it was a really popular car at that time and it always has been, I guess, because those pastel colors that Ford came out with in 1955 were really eye catching colours,” he said.
Loth was 18 when he purchased his first car, a Crown Victoria, and it was tropical rose and snowshoe white. He would go on to buy two more before getting married. He would however opt to sell all three, including one on the street in Calgary for $1,500. The car had all new paint, new tires, and a new motor and transmission.
