Sasktel Upgrades

SaskTel to upgrade cell towers in rural Sask.

Jul 27, 2022 | 4:00 PM

Residents in rural Saskatchewan will soon have increased 4G LTE data capacity.

On Wednesday, SaskTel announced they will be investing about $10 million to install Samsung Radio Access Network equipment to significantly improve the 4G LTE capacity of its wireless network.

The upgrade will be made in 30 communities across the province, including the Big River First Nation, Blaine Lake, Canwood, Choiceland, and Shellbrook.

The added capacity will ensure that SaskTel users can continue to use their smartphones without being slowed by network congestion.
