High gas and food prices double whammy for P.A.’s food trucks

The high prices have forced them to skip days and events as they couldn’t justify the cost to move their truck.

If things continue the way they are, they may have to make some hard decisions.

“If the prices keep going up then yes, we are going to have to shut down. If not that then we’re gonna have to raise our prices even more.”

V&C Resto Kart has also been having a tough time. Over the past year, they’ve had to raise their prices three times.

“Like a dollar per item… it’s hard to adjust the price,” said owner Virgilio Arpia.

He noted they’ve been lucky enough to see customer levels stay relatively the same as before.

When asked whether he was in danger of closing down the truck, he gave a very short answer.

“I hope not,” he chuckled.

One P.A. food truck remaining very optimistic is Moo Cow.

The ice cream provider explained they’ve also had to raise costs, but they have loyal customers who continue to support them.
