The Men’s/Women’s Amateur and Men’s Mid-Amateur Golf Championships battled through the heat on Wednesday as the tournaments at Cooke Municipal Golf Course continued.

Here’s how the standings look after two days of competition:

Men’s Amateur Championship

Defending champion Roman Timmerman of Saskatoon stayed consistent with his play from Tuesday, shooting the same score of 69 and two-under par which propelled him into first place after Wednesday with a score of four-under and 138.

Prince Albert’s Danny Klughart and Cody Jenkins both sit two strokes back of Timmerman in a tie for second, each shooting 140 and two-under after two days of play.

Saskatoon’s Alex Swinnerton finished fourth, shooting on par with 142, and Shaun Dunphy and Prince Albert’s Brett Henry sit in a tie for fifth at 144 and two-over par.

Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

Defending champion for the past three years, Danny Klughart, shot two-under yesterday to put himself in sole possession of first place, four strokes ahead of second place at 142 and two-under.

Like the Men’s Amateur Championship, Shaun Dunphy and Brett Henry sit tied but this time for second place. The two of them also share the same score of 144 and two-over par.

Chris Knoop of Moose Jaw sits in a close fourth at 145 and three-over while Lloydminster’s Jim Born Jr. claimed fifth with 147 and five-over.

Women’s Amateur Championship

The 2020 champion Brooklin Fry made up for her performance on Tuesday after shooting a women’s tournament best 147 and five-over par yesterday, moving her up five spots into a tie for first with Saskatoon’s Sarah Grieve. The two share the same score of 162 and 20-over par.

Regina’s Autumn Neiszner and Calgary’s Emily Cornwall stayed consistent from Tuesday as the two are still tied for second after Wednesday with a score of 166 and 24-over.

Rounding out the top five was Saskatoon’s Symone Ripley at 167 and 25-over par.

The Men’s and Women’s Amateur Championships wrap up today while the Men’s Mid Amateur Championship runs until tomorrow.
