There is another way for customers to fill up their vehicles or in this case…charge them.

Lake Country Co-op has officially opened a new charging station as part of the Tesla Supercharger network beside the Co-op gas bar in Cornerstone.

The new station has six Tesla Superchargers and two Flo generic chargers. The Tesla Superchargers have been in operation for a few weeks now, and the generic chargers will be installed and running in the coming weeks.

These new superchargers are the first and only in North Central Saskatchewan.

“We’re so excited about this,” said Director of Marketing and Community Relations with Lake Country Co-op, Brittney Rosenberg. “It’s something our members and our community have been asking for for a while now and a project we’re very passionate about.”

“Facilitating development of EV charging infrastructure to serve our members is a key part of our evolution” added CEO of Lake Country Co-op Tim Keller. “The addition of an EV charging station is a significant step on our journey towards long-term environmental sustainability and a low carbon economy”.

Rosenberg said there are no plans right now to expand or install the chargers in other locations.

“We’re looking forward to exploring future opportunities in our trading area but as of right now, there are no plans.”

The financial terms of the deal will not be publicly disclosed, and drivers are asked to visit Tesla.com/supercharger to learn more about Tesla’s supercharger network and our Prince Albert Food Store to see the new supercharger station in action.
