U15A Provincials: Aces and Astros advance to Provincial finals

Jul 10, 2022 | 9:00 AM

The Prince Albert Aces and the Prince Albert Astros both have a shot at gold in the U15 Provincial Championship.

The Aces picked up right where they left off on Friday, winning both their final round-robin games and their first playoff game on Saturday.

P.A got the job done in their final game against the Regina Royals Reign, winning 13-2, and didn’t let off the gas in their first playoff game. The Aces managed a seven-run seventh inning to take down the Regina Lazers, 16-8, securing a spot in Nationals and advancing to the Provincial Finals.

It was the same story for the Astros as they too find themselves in the finals.

P.A got hot in their first-round robin game Saturday morning, throttling the Saskatoon Selects 16-0.

Like the Aces, they kept the hammer down in game two.

The Astros rode a six-run first inning to victory versus the Ochapowace Loud Voice, winning 8-1.

The Aces go for gold at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at Rotary Park versus either the Lumsden Cubs, Melfort Spirit, or Regina Lazers.

The Astros do the same at noon at Rotary Park versus either Saskatoon or Ochapowace.
