Editor’s Note: An earlier version of the story wrote that the suspect was arrested. RCMP have not confirmed this and issued a release saying a man was found deceased inside a home in Langham, which they believe to be the suspect, but have not confirmed it yet.

An emergency alert involving a dangerous person from the Town of Langham has now been cancelled and the suspect has been located.

The initial alert was issued at 7:40 Friday morning as RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the town northwest of Saskatoon. The suspect was identified as Justin Heimbecker.

The alert was cancelled at 12:05 p.m. and police believe there is no further risk to public safety and the shelter in place order was rescinded.

According to the Corman Park Police, Heimbecker was found shortly before noon Friday, and there is no longer any threat to the public.

The local police service provided support to the RCMP but they could not share any more details about the incident.

In a media release, RCMP said a man was found by officers deceased inside a home in Langham around 11:40 a.m. The home was on fire earlier in the day. It’s believed the deceased person is Justin Heimbecker, but cannot be confirmed at this time
