Rain delay continues at Elk Ridge Open

Jun 24, 2022 | 1:18 PM

Mother nature remains uncooperative at the Elk Ridge Open as rain continues to fall and prevents golfers from playing for the second straight day.

Some golfers managed to finish round one of the tournament before the rain started pouring but other golfers weren’t as lucky, with a few golfers only managing three holes before the sirens blew.

As of Friday, Canadian Michael Blair sits a-top the leaderboard with -5(65) after round one. Three others are tied with Blair after completing the round, as Americans Taylor Funk and Harrison Ott along with Chinese golfer Charles Wang share the top spot.

Some Saskatchewan locals are among the 156 golfers in the tournament, with Prince Albert’s own Cory Selander sitting in a three-way tie for 149th at +4 after 12 holes.

Saskatoon’s Ty Campbell is in a tie for 19th at -2(68) after the first round. Saskatoon Amateur’s Roman Timmerman is in a tie for 93rd at +1(71) after round one while Josh Nagy is in a tie for 125th at +2 through three holes.

A full leaderboard of the Elk Ridge Open can be found here.

The tournament goes until Sunday.
