Identity of man found deceased in Montreal Lake Cree Nation released

Jun 15, 2022 | 1:37 PM

Saskatchewan RCMP has released the name of a man found deceased on Montreal Lake Cree Nation earlier this month.

On June 7, Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP received a report of a sudden death in the First Nation.

Officers found a deceased man outside of a home, but at the time only released his age, 33, and that he was from the community.

Now, RCMP has confirmed the identity of the man as Chad Duncan Bird and has determined his death a homicide.

Police said they found Bird near House 612 on the First Nation. RCMP said they’re releasing his name and location because investigators want to speak with anyone who had contact with Chad or was in or around House 612 on June 6 or June 7.

Anyone with details on this homicide is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
