Predators and SWAT battle it out in high-scoring tie

In a game that could have gone either way, it went neither way. The Prince Albert Predators and Saskatoon Jr. SWAT both had to settle for an 11-11 tie in a late game at the Kinsmen Arena on Tuesday night in Prairie Gold Lacrosse League action.

Like the final score would suggest, it was a back and fourth game and both teams traded scoring runs. The Predators had a 3-1 lead in the opening nine minutes, but the SWAT scored four consecutive goals and had a 5-4 lead after the first period. The Predators countered in the second to take a 9-8 lead after 40 minutes after having a three-goal run themselves. The Predators were up 11-9 with 8:51 remaining before the SWAT scored twice and tied it up with 7:44 left. Despite all the firepower on both sides and all the scoring done earlier in the game, nobody else would be able to find the back of the net and the game ended in an 11-11 draw.

Dillan Cochrane and Tyson Perreault both scored hat tricks for the Predators. Cochrane added an assist as well for a four-point night. Hayden Ulriksen had two goals and an assist, Brayden Reiger scored a goal and added two helpers, while Koltin Fyrk and Liam Netmaker also scored.

Predators’ Cochrane, Ulriksen, and Matthew Cudmore are all tied for fifth in PGLL scoring with 10 points. Cochrane has seven goals, Ulriksen has five while Cudmore has two.
