Brothers for life: Former Raiders Bilous and Pearce win second championship together
A pair of Prince Albert Raiders alumni are champions once again after the Estevan Bruins secured the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) championship on Friday.
It took the Bruins seven games to beat the Flin Flon Bombers to win their first championship since 1999.
Former Raiders forward Eric Pearce and goaltender Boston Bilous played major roles in the Bruins playoff run. In 16 playoff games Pearce had 10 goals, eight assists for 18 points, which was second best on the Bruins. Bilous led the way in net with two shutouts during the playoffs sporting 2.00 goals against average and a .928 save percentage as a starting goaltender.
Bilous told paNOW it feels great to be an SJHL champion as their first major goal as a team was to win the league title.
