Chiefs win Treaty 6 Championship

The Sandy Lake Chiefs have been crowned the 2022 Treaty 6 Hockey League champs.

The deciding game was played Tuesday night when the Chiefs beat the Whitefish Flyers 10-4 and clinched the series three games to one.

After the regular season, the Chiefs finished second with 12 wins and four losses.

Keldon Bird and Lydon Bird led the team in goals with 13 each.

Prior to facing the Whitefish Flyers in the final round of the playoffs, the Chiefs beat James Smith and Saulteaux.
