28-year-old man arrested for hitting P.A. officer in head with rock
An officer for the Prince Albert Police Service is recovering from a minor injury after being hit in the head with a large rock.
On April 22, officers spotted a man throwing a rock at a house on 19 Street and Sixth Avenue East.
The man, later identified as 28-year-old Jerry Ballantyne, fled on foot. He was found along 21st Street East where he proceeded to throw a rock at the officer’s vehicle, damaging the front passenger side window.
Ballantyne threw another rock, this time hitting one of the officers in the head. The officer only suffered a minor injury.
