Raiders looking for fan boost as they chase their first win in opening series against ICE
The Prince Albert Raiders will hope a hopping Art Hauser Centre will be the key to getting on the board in their opening playoff series against the Winnipeg ICE.
The biggest key to that end is slowing down the ICE’s ridiculous power play, which is clicking at a WHL-leading 57.1 per cent in the series so far. They were 2-4 on the power play in their 3-1 win in Game 1, and scored on both of their first two man advantages during their 5-2 victory in Game 2. The ICE also led the WHL in power play percentage during the regular season at 27.4 per cent.
The Raiders also haven’t got their power play going themselves yet, as they are 0-8 and one of three teams yet to score a power play goal this post-season.
Although the Raiders have managed just three goals in the two opening games this series, captain Reece Vitelli has certainly played his part offensively. Vitelli scored two of the Raiders’ goals and got the primary assist on the other, a rifled shot scored by Landon Kosior. Cale Sanders and Sloan Stanick both have two assists in the series as well.
