P.A. Fire Department investigates West Flat garage fire

Apr 22, 2022 | 12:00 PM

For the second time this week, a garage/shed in Prince Albert’s West Flat neighbourhood has been reduced to a pile of ash.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m.Thursday, the city’s fire department was called to the 800 block of 15th St. W.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fortunately the fire did not spread to the house across the yard, or to the Prince Albert Grand Council Family Daycare that is located next door.

Earlier this week a shed in the 900 block of 18th St. W. was also consumed by fire, and a spokesperson for the fire department indicated there was nothing found at the scene that could have caused the fire such as gas powered vehicles.

Deputy Fire Chief Alex Paul told paNOW both fire are considered suspicious in nature, but added it’s not clear if they are in any way related.
