The Essential Link between Creativity, Innovation and Collaborative Divorce: Perspectives from Around the Globe
Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan Inc. Is Transforming How Families Approach Separation Through Participation in United Nations-Recognized World Creativity & Innovation Week
Saskatchewan, April 14, 2022 — Separation can be one of the most tragic and stress-inducing life experiences for couples and families around the world. Universally, it is a time to confront emotions while making life-altering decisions. So, it’s important to note that there is a way that couples can minimize the negative impacts on themselves and their families if they do decide to split.
It’s called Collaborative Practice, also referred to as Collaborative Divorce, and it is a dispute resolution model practiced internationally which provides families with an opportunity to reduce the negative impacts of separation by working proactively and cooperatively with a team of specially trained Collaborative legal, financial, and mental health professionals who educate, support, and guide couples to make their own lasting and respectful agreements. Collaborative Practice empowers couples and families to resolve their legal disputes outside of court, without judges, magistrates, or court personnel making decisions for them and facilitates respectful and dignified resolutions while putting children at the center of decision-making.
To inform families in transition around the world of the transformative impact of Collaborative in the separation process, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), the premier global organization promoting a Collaborative approach to dispute resolution, of which Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan Inc. is an involved member of, is partnering with World Creativity and Innovation Week organizers to spread awareness of Collaborative Practice and its relation to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
