Spiritwood RCMP warn signs of overdosing after finding three deceased near Leoville
Spiritwood RCMP are reminding the public about how to safely recognize when somebody has overdosed, after finding three people deceased in a vehicle on Saturday morning.
At around 8:30 a.m., RCMP received a report of three unresponsive people in a vehicle between Leoville and Chitek Lake and found evidence of drug use at the scene. Emergency Medical Services declared them deceased at the scene.
RCMP warned that signs of an overdose can occur in those who seem slow, weak, not breathing, blue lips and nails, dizzy and confused, won’t wake up, choking or gurgling, and are drowsy and cannot stay awake.
Those who see somebody who could be overdosing should call 911. The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act legally protects those who are reporting an overdose.
