Ottawa police have charged a second man with arson after fire in downtown apartment
OTTAWA — A second man has been charged with trying to set fire to a downtown Ottawa apartment building in early February.
Ottawa police say they’ve charged 41-year-old Bartosz Wernik with arson causing property damage and disregard for human life, mischief to property endangering life, mischief to property and possession of incendiary material.
The charges have not been tested in court and police said Wernik will be in court at a later date.
In March, 21-year-old Connor Russell McDonald was charged with the same offences. Both men are from Ottawa.
