Police apologize for early information release
The Prince Albert Police Service is apologizing for releasing some information on the death of Taya Sinclair before her family was notified of all the details.
Sinclair’s body was found in the city near the Alfred Jenkins Field House last week. It had been burned.
The service is now apologizing because while the information was correct, not all of Sinclair’s family were aware of the details before it was made public.
“Due to the sensitive nature of this information and the extreme trauma Taya’s family is suffering at this very difficult time, the public release of these details resulted in surprise and added anguish for her family,” said PAPS in a statement.
