Mintos assert dominance early in win over Maulers
The Prince Albert Mintos took care of business on Super Bowl Sunday with a 5-0 win over the Yorkton Maulers at the Art Hauser Centre.
The Mintos established their dominance early, leading 3-0 in goals and 21-4 in shots after the opening frame, with goals from Ashton Tait, Zach Bansley and Ryan Lepitzki.
Like he has been all season, Jacob Cossette was an issue that the Maulers didn’t have a solution for, first fighting through two checks to gain entry into the Maulers’ zone for the Tait goal. Cossette then had a similar entry halfway through the opening frame finding Bansley backdoor for the second goal of the game. He then scored his own goal in the second to make it 4-0.
Cossette now has 69 points on the season as he continues to lead the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League in that regard.
