Local woman hopes to win big in magazine contest

Another Prince Albert woman is wanting to grace the cover of an international magazine dedicated to tattoos.

Inked Magazine is holding its annual cover girl contest with a chance to be featured on the cover of the popular magazine along with a prize of $25,000.

Robin Poliszuk saw the contest and thought it would be a fun opportunity to showcase her love of tattoos.

“I’m so passionate about tattoos. I love them, it’s like art you can wear,” she said. “I find them unique, and they give a person a chance to be themselves and show off other people’s art.”

Poliszuk is not alone as fellow Prince Albert resident Melanie Hicks is also in the contest, along with Sasha Janzen, a tattoo studio owner from Porcupine Plain.

Currently, Poliszuk is sixth in her group and while she admits she might not make it to the next round, she’s still enjoying the experience.

If she does win though, she has plans for what to do with the cash prize.

“More tattoos, trips, student loans, buying everyone who voted for me a coffee.”

Voting for the top ten of the contest ends on Thursday night at 9:00 p.m. CST.
