En Fuego claims bronze at Sask. Cup

For the first time in nearly two years, the Prince Albert Optimist Toppers volleyball teams have returned to competitive play, and are showing no signs of any court rust.

The U13 Sask. Cup was held Saturday in Warman at the Legends Centre, and Prince Albert’s En Fuego squad finished third after a narrow 25-15, 16-25, 15-12 win over the hometown Central Valley VC.

The Esprit and Peligro teams also played and finished second and third respectively in Tier 3.

In total, there were 22 teams competing from across the province.

The Sask. Cup event for U15 was held last weekend, and Prince Albert’s EnFuego team took home silver.

The U14, U17 and U18 teams are competing this upcoming weekend. The U14 and U18 teams are in Saskatoon at the Henk Ruys Centre, while the U17 team is in Warman.
