P.A. and North Battleford seeing increase in COVID levels: study

Feb 3, 2022 | 11:46 AM

COVID levels are seeing a big jump in Prince Albert and North Battleford.

That’s according to the University of Saskatchewan which has been studying wastewater in the communities to determine how prevalent the virus is.

In P.A., levels have increased by around 358 per cent when compared to the week before.

As for North Battleford, they’re looking at a roughly 320 per cent increase.

Researchers note this could result in an increase in confirmed cases in the near future, however, this will depend on how many people get tested.

Meanwhile, the Omicron variant continues to be the dominant strain in both communities.

It’s accounting for 97 per cent of the levels in P.A. and 100 per cent in North Battleford.
