Extreme cold warnings issued for most regions of Saskatchewan

Feb 2, 2022 | 10:16 AM

Extreme cold warnings have followed in the wake of an Alberta Clipper that battered Saskatchewan on Monday.

Environment Canada issued the warnings for most areas of the province Tuesday afternoon, saying “a prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected.”

The weather service said temperatures around -30 C are to combine with winds of 15 to 20 kilometres per hour to produce wind chills near -40 C overnight across most of southern Saskatchewan.

Regina and Saskatoon were included in the warnings.
