MN-S condemns actions after unauthorized use of their vehicle in trucker convoy

Metis Nation-Saskatchewan (MN-S) has released a statement after a video on Facebook showed a Metis Nation-Saskatchewan truck during the anti-mandate trucker convoy to Saskatoon from Prince Albert. A MN-S flag can also be seen displayed on the back of the truck.

The organizations said they are aware of the video and that the employee did not have permission to use the vehicle in the protest. They also said views expressed by the convoy do not reflect those of MN-S and that any use of their vehicles for personal political reasons would not be tolerated.

“I am beyond disappointed and angered by the actions of the individuals involved in this convoy,” said MN–S president Glen McCallum in a media release. “The spread of vaccine disinformation and hostility is harmful to our Nation and our people. We know our Nation is better than this, and it is unacceptable that actions like these continue to endanger our communities and undermine the many sacrifices we have made to keep safe during the pandemic.”

Furthermore, they urge those who have not been vaccinated to go and do so to protect everyone against COVID-19.
