Prince Albert RCMP investigating aggravated assault

UPDATE: Durwin Cook was arrested and made his first appearance in court on Jan. 10. The case has been adjourned to Tuesday for a show cause hearing.

On Jan. 1, at about 9:00 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP was called to a report of an assault at an RV park south of the city.

According to police, there were two men involved. One man assaulted the other, then stole his vehicle. One man was taken to hospital with injuries police described as “serious but not life-threatening.”

Following their investigation, police have charged 52-year-old Durwin Cook with one count of aggravated assault and one count of robbery with other offensive weapons.

There has been a warrant issued for his arrest and RCMP said they are actively looking for him. The stolen vehicle has been found.

Cook is described as approximately 5-foot-9 and 155 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. His photo is above.
