Celebrate Safely

SGI reminding everyone to celebrate New Year’s responsibly

Dec 31, 2021 | 9:00 AM

As many are preparing to celebrate the end of another tough year, others are encouraging everyone to do so responsibly.

SGI is sending out a reminder for anyone who chooses to celebrate New Year’s outside of their home to plan to get back safely.

This includes having a designated driver, taking a cab, or a rideshare.

Several cities are also allowing people to use public transit for free on New Year’s Eve. This includes Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, and Moose Jaw.

Impaired driving is dangerous on its own, but the risk is increased as roads across Saskatchewan are covered in snow and ice.

To ensure everyone’s safety, police will be out in full force across the province. This mean’s there’s a good chance those out driving will be pulled over at a traffic stop.
